An Astrological Look at Election 2000
by Karen Steen, Astrologer
This past month, while still digging out from the boxes of my October move, I've been transfixed by the events of our Presidential election. The astrological analyses of this election, considering the birth charts of the candidates and the chart of the United States, have been nothing short of amazing. Throughout 2000, mundane astrologers have offered insights into this election. Based on the retrograde motion of Mercury at the time of the election, astrologers agreed that the election would have an unexpected outcome - that the outcome would be initially uncertain and delayed. Indeed!
As we move into our sixth week of this delayed outcome, with the possibility of Congress ultimately deciding this election, I suggest you read "Bush or Gore: What the Asteroids Say" written August 31, 2000 by Jacob Schwartz, pH. D, Astrologer. This article is posted on Mr. Schwartz's web site at www.asteroids.com - click on the "Decisions 2000" link there. The article offers an amazingly accurate prediction of this extraordinary election, a detailed explanation of the electoral college, examples from history of political precedents, and an interesting application of asteroid astrology.
Although I do not emphasize asteroid astrology in my work, I am grateful to Mr. Schwartz for his elucidation. For those of you who remain actively interested in our Presidential election, I enthusiastically recommend his article. |
