Winter 2000-01 Astrological Highlights 2001
by Karen Steen, Astrologer The year 2001 is characterized by the following astrological events:
Mercury, Venus, and Mars spend sequential periods in retrograde motion from early February through July. This indicates a time to evaluate and revise current endeavors before implementing new or expanded activities and projects. This extended retrograde period, and suggestions for planning during 2001, are detailed below in my Winter 2001 Astro Info article, “...Retrograding Into 2001”.
Throughout this year, Jupiter and Saturn each move to positions opposite Pluto in our sky. These are long term transits that occur every 10 - 36 years respectively. Analysis of these transits provide insight into political, economic, social, and personal events and opportunities. The Jupiter/ Pluto opposition, from 9/00 through 5/01, is the topic of my Spring 2001 Astro Info article, “Perspective as Power: Jupiter Opposes Pluto 9/00-5/01”. The Saturn/Pluto opposition, from 8/01 through 5/02, is the topic of my Summer 2001 Astro Info article, "Saturn Opposes Pluto 8/01- 5/02: Evolving Structures of Thought, Language, and Communication".
The global political crisis precipitated by the terrorists attacks of 9/11/2001 is addressed in my fall article. Here, I give brief summaries and links for astrological articles from political, economic, psychological, and historical perspectives. Together, these articles offer a full range of astrological analysis of current global events, from financial to spiritual. My Fall 2001 Astro Info article is: "Current Events: Astrological Views of World Politics, Economy, and Culture".
